Why PlayAnnapolis?

Over the past decade, there has been a significant shift in how recreation is being offered to the youth of Annapolis. Following national trends, access to local recreational opportunities in our city has declined for those unable to afford the fees, cost of gear and equipment or travel requirements.

“Recreation and sports shouldn’t and doesn’t need to be hard to access. There is universal agreement that sports and recreation are not just good for kids but critical to their overall physical and mental health. We can work together to make sure every youth in Annapolis can access the activities they want to participate in whether or not their families can afford it,” said Bess Langbein, President and Board Member, PlayAnnapolis.
